Globalstar Tri-Mode Phones from QUALCOMM are designed with the
flexibility to meet the needs of cellular users who already consume a high
volume of airtime, but find themselves in areas where cellular coverage is
either unavailable, incompatible or inaccessible. QUALCOMM's Globalstar
Tri-Mode Phone is designed to compliment existing fixed and cellular
telephone networks by switching from terrestrial cellular telephony to
satellite telephony as required. Interoperability between the Globalstar
communications system and cellular Service Providers is assured, and the
subscriber maintains a convenient single point of billing. These features
provide the Globalstar user the highestlevel of service and convenience,
which increases subscriber's satisfaction and loyalty to the cellular
Service Provider. Globalstar Tri-mode portable phone offers clear digital
voice and data communications worldwide by utilizing QUALCOMM's Code
Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology combined with a constellation
of 48 Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Globalstar Tri-mode portable phone
is designed to provide a low cost solution to extend the ability to
communicate from outside cellular and land line phones, as well as, in
areas where cellular or land line phones are inaccessible due to lack of
coverage or incompatible cellular technologies. North American Wall
